One page, one next step: write a clearer call to action

Help visitors understand your offer, choose a useful primary action, and measure completed enquiries instead of button clicks.

A useful landing page answers three questions: what is the offer, who is it for, and what should I do next? Before changing colours or adding animation, write one sentence that answers all three.

Start with a specific promise

Replace “Digital solutions for everyone” with a concrete description such as “A five-page website for independent hotels, with a direct enquiry form.” Keep the promise within the service you can actually deliver. Avoid guaranteed sales claims you cannot substantiate.

Choose a primary action that matches the offer

For a consultation-led service, “Request a project quote” explains the next step more clearly than “Submit”. For software, “Book a product walkthrough” may be appropriate. Use the same wording wherever that action appears on the page.

Explain what happens after the click

Next to the form, say what information you need and how you will use it. State a response time only if you can consistently meet it. If a demo requires a meeting, make that clear before asking for contact details.

Keep secondary actions available

A visitor who is not ready to enquire may want to see your work or read the package scope. Keep these links available, but give the primary action stronger visual emphasis. On mobile, check that the button is easy to reach and does not cover useful content.

Measure the outcome

Track successful enquiries separately from button clicks, using analytics only with the appropriate consent. Compare the number of completed enquiries with relevant visits over a consistent period. A click shows interest; a completed enquiry gives you something actionable.

Try this today: ask someone unfamiliar with your business to read the first screen and describe the offer and next step. Rewrite anything they cannot explain without help.
